Aquasong padded out of the warrior's den and sat down in the camp clearing, her bright blue eyes taking in her surroundings. "Hmm...no one seems to be awake yet." she thought. In several graceful steps she made her way to the fresh-kill pile and chose a mouse from the pile, she once again sat and ate it in small bites, enjoying the morning sunlight.
Emberfall stepped out into the bright morning sun and winced as the light hit his eyes. He flicked his tail and padded across to Aquasong, who was busy munching on a mouse. "Did you have permission to eat yet? You know very well that no one eats until the hunting patrols return," he said, one ear twitching in annoyance.
(Just a question, are you going to edit the weather/time on the first page? You should have a time of season there aas well. There should also be an interaction place, for like Gatherings and Fights between NightClan and MoonClan.)
Tiny shafts of light swerved through the branches, casting an eerie dappled glow in the misty morning. In this twilight before day, with rosy pink streaks in the eastern sky yet no flaming disc of light yet appearing, most creatures were either slumbering softly in their hollows or circling in their nests, about to sleep for the daytime. And yet, nature always finds a way of stirring . . .
Amid a small grove of tall grasses, a tuft of reddish fur lying on the ground gives the predator her warning chance. A slight heartbeat, and the sight of a furry tail--a squirrel foraging for a snack. Just one more step . . . just one more--
Claws scrap the throat, leaves are flung aside, a quick scream, and Firepelt has yet enough catch.
Tossing it carelessly onto her pile of fresh-kill, which included several baby water voles (the she-cat had found a burrow earlier), two spearows, and a mockingbird, the flame-furred warrior picked the entire up in her mouth and started to trot back to camp. The forest was easily cleared, and soon Firepelt was almost home.
And then she heard Emberfall scolding someone. Of course. Clearing the last few cat-lengths of forest and coming into the brambled entrance, Firepelt flung her prey onto the fresh-kill pile.
"There, Emberfall, no need to yell about not eating," said the warrior, pulling out the mockingbird neatly and taking a bite. "You should really try the baby voles."
The grey swirled she-cat turned and narrowed her eyes at Emberfall, her tail twitching impatiently "Problem solved oh high and mighty. Besides, how can a cat hunt with an empty belly?! And how can you think I would be so STUPID to eat without going hunting afterward?" she shook her head and bent, taking the last mouthful of mouse and chewing it slowly before finishing "I am very disappointed with you Emberfall very disappointed. Nice catch Firepelt, at least someone has some since."
With that she stood took a last brooding glance at Emberfall with her deep blue eyes and turned back to him, grooming her long fur clean.
Sure, flut, I'll get right to that. Just so you know, you can do that as well, since you're an admin.
Emberfall narrowed his eyes and took a half-step back, trying to hide his embarrassment. "Good," He growled, almost under his breath, and then took a mouse and swirled around and stalked away to the shadetree and sat down. He took a bite of the mouse and stared at Aquasong from across the clearing. He shook his head. She was one strange cat. The way her eyes bored into you like that... He took another bite of the mouse. Strange cat, indeed.
Yawning, Tigerstar stretched hmself out and walked outside. "How is everyone today? Emberfall? Are you alright?" The deputy seemed quite angry. he helped himself to a squirrel and devoured it in two bites. "Now, Emberfall, Aquasong, you two are going hunting.:
Emberfall flicked one ear but said nothing. he shot Aquasong an icy glare and then nodded slowly. "Yes, Tigerstar. Should we round anyone else up?" He asked. "A couple of the apprentices, perhaps?" He licked his lips, washing away the last of the mouse. "They could use the practice," he said.
"Hmph!" she thought as Tigerstar spoke "Great I'll be hunting with that fool, probably can't even catch any prey." in a moment she finished grooming and padded to TIgerstar's side in a few smooth bounds "Must I hunt with HIM? I could catch plenty more on my OWN." she mewed softly, her bright eyes boring into Emberfall pointedly.
Silverpaw stepped out of the apprentices' den with a huge yawn. She look out into the clearing, screwing up her eyes against the bright sun, then rolled her eyes when she saw Emberfall and Aquasong staring at each other like a couple of angry badgers. "As always" she thought to herself, then padded over to see what was going on. Silverpaw expected her father to have started it, knowing him like she did. She sighed.
Emberfall noticed Silverpaw and nodded to her. "Good morning, Silverpaw. I've put you on a hunting patrol with Aquasong, you could use the practice," He said.
Siverpaw looked at him. It will always be a wonder to her how her father can be boiling mad, and then just act like he's as happy as always. She shrugged, and nodded. "Okay."
Oh Dovefoot, Silverpaw is Firepelt's apprentice, right?
Firepelt twitched her tail. "When you get back, Silverpaw, we going to practice battling . . ."
The she-cat went to visit her sister, Startail.
"Morning, Starry. I brought you something," called Firepelt as she squeezed into the medicine cat's hollow.
"Good morning Firepelt. What have you--oh, a water vole? My favorite! thank you, sister." The silver-furred she-cat dug in eagerly. "I've been starving all morning trying to get the catmint into place . . . I really should get an apprentice."
As admins of the blog, can we make stuff 'happen,' like a disease outbreak or a badger attack?
Yes, but we need to figure out a system beforehand. We need to figure out who moderates what boards, who's job is what, etc. Once we do that, we can figure out disease, badger attacks, invading rouges, or whatever.
Emberfall turned to Silverpaw. "Okay, we should get going. I'm going to go," he said, sighing in mid-sentence, "with you two." He padded out of the clearing and into the forest.
(K, peeps in the hunting patrol, this is going to the territory board now.)
(*Coughs* Sorry guys with the new site and the end of school I've been busy to0....about the whole plot/when do attacks/diseases happen issue, you could do what you said or make a new page where people can give their suggestions/comments and you approve (or disapprove) what they want to do with the plot. Anyway....) She gave a curt nod and smiled slightly at Firepelt as she squeezed through the gorse tunnel out of camp. A few tufts of her long fur stuck in the entrance, dangling in the breeze.
